Why have an allotment?

There are many benefits to having your own allotment, here are just a few.

  • Pleasure of seeing what you sow grow to maturity
  • Being able to grow a wide variety of fruit and veg which is not available in supermarkets
  • Exercise and a healthier lifestyle
  • Fresh air, peace and quiet
  • Opportunity to meet new friends
  • Eat your own fresh and organic produce

  • Site Warden (6/4/2022)

We would like to welcome Andrew Morris to our management team, he will be taking on the challenging role of warden for the foreseeable future. Andrew has been a site member for many years and also performed this role whilst under local council control.

We would also like to thank John Pilkington for his many years of dedication to the role, from his inception in 2014 to his “stepping down” on the 30th May 2022. We hope you have more time to enjoy your plot without the stress of the job and all it entails.

For those who haven’t met Andrew here is a photo of him showing off his other love… Quo 🙂

  • Plot Numbers (6/4/2022)

As most of you know the plot numbers have been totally random since inception, as of this weekend we have re-numbered all plots as agreed at the AGM.

This numbering system starts at the entrance gate and continues clockwise around the site ending on the central island. A new site map & plot holder list is available on the notice board & inside the toilet block. The plot holder list has both your old plot number & the new number to try and remove any confusion.

Any issues please get in touch with a member of the committee.

  • Plot Availability (3/2/2022)
